Birthday Parties
Have a creative birthday at Creative Spark!
Our team of artists will plan a spectacular party for children. Parties include two art projects, cake, and drinks, paper goods, a gift for the birthday child, a piñata full of party favors and clean up. Guaranteed to be fun for the children and easy for the parents.
Parties are 90 minutes starting at 11:00am or 1:00pm on Saturdays.
Cost: $250 for 12 children,
$10 for each additional child

Robert Ivey’s Ballet for Kids Program

The only program in Charleston to follow the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, a program what combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development.  The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.  Saturdays beginning Sept 12th.  Classes are for ages 3 to 10.  Please contact instructor, Miss Angela Agudo at 843-818-8917 or visit www.balletforkids.com for class times, class attire, tuition information & discounts, registration, etc.

 

Musikgarten ®  Awaken your baby or toddler’s love of music in this adult/child music class for babies and toddlers instructed by Natalie Hudson.  From 10 – 10:30am for 15 weeks beginning the week of August 23rd for $150 plus $35 supplies. Newborn to 16 months come Wed’s ;  ages 16 months to 3 years come on Mon. or Thurs.

 

Popsicle Wednesdays  Children ages 3 to 5 will enjoy doing art projects and end each class with a  Popsicle.  Michaela Kuhn, instructor.  Wed’s from 3 to 4pm for 8 weeks beginning Aug 25th and Oct 20th for $85 plus $15 supplies.

Ages 5 to 12

Private music lessons in piano, guitar, voice, violin and bass can begin at any time for $26 per half hour. All ages welcome. Longer lessons are also available.

Childbloom Guitar®  is a unique and exciting way to introduce guitar and music to kids between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.  Classes are taught in small groups and meet Saturday mornings.  Parental involvement is encouraged.  For more information, call Tom Noren at 514-3405.

 

Musical Tales 

A Class in Musical Theater for children ages 6 to 14 with Stan Gill, Artistic Director of SPROUTS Children’s Theatre & Inga Agrest Musical Director of SPROUTS. 

All material will be taken from The SPROUTS Library of Musical Tales (titles such as "Aladdin", "Rapunzel", "The Princess & the Pea", Pinocchio" and "Cinderella").  Acting, singing & movement will propel this class while teachers will select appropriate solos, duets, trios & group numbers for students to perform in a musical showcase for friends and family.  Mondays from 4:30 - 6pm for 12 weeks beginning Sept  13th for $185.

 

GLEE  Students ages 12 and up will audition for a spot in Mount Pleasant’s first original auditioned chorale ensemble. Under the direction of Inga Agrest, students will learn to sing popular songs with harmony, solo opportunities and simple choreography.  The semester ends with a gala performance.   Tuesdays from 5 to 6:30pm for 12 weeks beginning Sept 14th for $165  Auditions will be held on Tuesday, Sept 7th from 5 to 6:30pm, reservations required.  The audition piece is “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.  Sight singing and harmonizing skills are preferred but not required.

 

Mini-Michelangelo’s Inspiration from great masters with a variety of materials. Scott Debus, instructor.  Ages 6 to 8 come Mondays from 4 to 5pm for 6 weeks starting either Sept 13th or Nov 1st for the cost of $80 plus $20 supplies. 

                                                

                                                                   

Cartoons & Comic Books invent characters, animate them and bring them to life with Scott Debus, instructor. Ages 8 and up. Mondays from 5:15 to 6:15pm for 6 weeks beginning either Sept 13th or Nov 1st for the cost of $80 plus $15 supplies. 

 

Creative Digital Photography  Ages 9 and up will explore different creative techniques, go on class photo shoots, and write about their experiences in a photo book made in class.  Point and shoot digital camera required to take course.  Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30pm for 6 weeks beginning Sept 1st and Oct 20th for $80 plus $20 supplies.  Instructor, Christina Caputo.

 

 

Brown Bag Art Club  Especially for home-schooled children ages 5 to 12 who want to experience a variety of media or prepare a portfolio.  Stimulating, creative projects with individualized attention to accommodate learning styles and experience levels.  Taught by Michaela Kuhn on Wed’s from 10:30 to 12pm for 8 weeks beginning Aug 25th and Oct 20th for $15 per child.  This class will meet at Palmetto Island County Park so students should bring a brown bag lunch!  Visit creativespark.org or call 881-3780 for class schedules – reservations are required and students will receive advance park tickets.

 

Clay for Kids  Ages 5 & up will make coil, slab and pinch clay projects and eat ice cream from their bowls on the last day.  Michaela Kuhn, instructor.  $120 plus $25 supplies for 8 weeks.  Fridays from 3:30 – 4:30 for 8 weeks beginning Aug 28th or Oct 22nd. 

 

Advanced Handbuilding   Students ages 10 & up will work closely with Michaela Kuhn to learn the entire process of making, glazing and firing individual projects.  Students will experiment in creating handmade pots and vessels using several methods of constructing involving slabs and coils.  Fridays from 4:45 to 5:45 for 8 weeks beginning Aug 28th or Oct 22nd for $140 Plus $25 supplies.

 

Project Runway  If you like to express yourself through fashion, jewelry, color and your imagination then PROJECT RUNWAY is just for you! Each week students ages 8 to 12 will learn about different fashion designers and use their influences to complete individual projects.  From “Coco” Chanel to t-shirt dresses, this class will challenge even the experienced fashionista.  The class will conclude with a gala runway event!  Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30pm for 8 weeks beginning Aug 24th or Oct 19th for $100 plus $20 supplies.  Caitlin Schulman, Instructor.
