Birthday Parties
Have a creative birthday at Creative Spark!
Our team of artists will plan a spectacular party for children. Parties include two art projects, cake, and drinks, paper goods, a gift for the birthday child, a piñata full of party favors and clean up. Guaranteed to be fun for the children and easy for the parents.
Parties are 90 minutes starting at 11:00am or 1:00pm on Saturdays.
Cost: $250 for 12 children,
$10 for each additional child

Ages Newborn to 4 Years Old

Musikgarten ®
Awaken your baby or toddler’s love of music in this adult/child music class for babies and toddlers instructed by Natalie Hudson.  From 10 – 10:30am for 15 weeks beginning the week of January 25th for $150 plus $35 supplies. Newborn to 16 months come Wednesdays ;  ages 16 months to 3 years come on Monday or Thursday.

 

Parent / Child Clay 

Children ages 4 & up with an accompanying adult will enjoy doing projects with Michaela Kuhn, instructor.  Grown ups and children make their own pieces while working together in this fun and messy class.  Wed’s from 4 to 5pm for 8 weeks beginning Jan 20th and March 24th for $130 per pair plus $50 supplies.  Additional siblings are $70. Additional bags of clay are $20. This class is held at Trident Academy off Whipple Road (just around the corner from Creative Spark!)

Happily Ever Art  Your little prince or princess will love experimenting in the magical world of Fairy Tales!  Class will begin with an enchanted story and then we’re off to create works of art based on the storyline.  Instructor, Caiti Boles.  Ages 3 ½ to 6 on Wed’s from 3:30 to 4:30 for 8 weeks beginning Jan 27th or March 31st for $100 plus $20 supplies.

This national leading mobile children’s sports and fitness program provides a friendly, non-competitive introduction to a variety of sports.  Football, croquet, soccer, yoga, Frisbee, golf and more!  With over 70 different sport activities, and a professionally developed, age appropriate curriculum, your child will never get bored!  Each weekly class incorporates a cardiovascular warm-up, stretches with our signature dynabands, a sport activity, and a fitness activity, all set to age-appropriate music.  JumpBunch coaches teach through constant praise and encouragement to build self esteem and JumpBunch has been proven to ease many children’s fear of trying new sports.  Our goal at JumpBunch is to lay the foundation early in a child’s development for a lifetime of healthy habits, build confidence and coordination, and have a lot of fun! 

Classes are on Fridays beginning January 8th. $60 per session.

Drumming  Children ages 6 and up can join instructor Brian Widlowski for an ensemble percussion class featuring Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms.  Students will learn to work as a team while creating an authentic performance playing conga drums, serdos, and various other percussion instruments.   No experience is necessary.  All of the equipment is provided for those who don’t bring their own.   Tuesdays from 5 to 6pm for 8 weeks beginning March 23rd for $100.

Broadway Kids A beginning Musical Theater Class for children ages 6 to 9 with Stan Gill, Artistic Director of SPROUTS Children’s Theatre.  Each class will start with a warm-up for voice and body and some acting games or movement. Learn numbers from Broadway shows with parts for everyone.  The semester ends with a gala performance.  Mondays from 4:30 to 5:30pm for 12 weeks beginning Jan 25th for $165 plus minimal costume charges

Broadway Performing Troupe  An intermediate Musical Theater Class for ages 9 & up (or 8 year olds with at least one year experience) under the direction of Inga Agrest.  In addition to learning Broadway numbers & scenes for preparation for our own gala performance, these students will have the opportunity to assist with putting together the younger group’s show. Their learning experience would involve stage managing, assisting with choreography, costume ideas, props and decorations, possibly some lighting and running the sound for shows using an accompaniment CD.  (Students may need to come earlier for a few weeks.)  The semester ends in May with a Performance for both classes.  15 weeks on Mondays from from 5:30 to 6:30pm beginning Janury 4th.  Tuition is two payments of $120 plus minimal costume charges.

Childbloom Guitar®  is a unique and exciting way to introduce guitar and music to kids between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.  Classes are taught in small groups and meet Saturday mornings.  Parental involvement is encouraged.  For more information, call Tom Noren at 514-3405.

 

Mini-Michelangelo’s Inspiration from great masters with a variety of materials from painting to sculpture. Scott Debus, instructor.  Ages 6 to 8 come Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 for 6 weeks starting either February 1st or April 12th for the cost of $80 plus $20 supplies.  Scott Debus is a familiar force in the local arts scene with works in various galleries and venues.  He also curates and co-organizes Kulture Klash, the multimedia arts show that's become a must-attend event on Charleston's social calendar.

 

Cartoons & Comic Books invent characters, animate them and bring them to life with Scott Debus, instructor. Ages 8 and up. Mondays from 4:45 to 5:45 for 6 weeks beginning either February 1st or April 12th for the cost of $80 plus $15 supplies. 

 

Creative Digital Photography  Ages 9 and up will explore different creative techniques, go on class photo shoots, and write about their experiences in a photo book made in class.  Point and shoot digital camera required to take course.  Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30pm for 6 weeks beginning Jan 26th and March 23rd for $80 plus $20 supplies.  Instructor, Christina Caputo.

 

Scrap Art  Great works of art can be created using things you have around your house from bottle caps to broken bowls!  Put on your thinking caps and dream up all sorts of ways to turn trash into treasure!  Turn scrap paper into funky collages or pottery shards into beautiful mosaics.  Think twice about what can become magnificent works of art – and RECYCLE.  Ages 8 & up on Tuesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 for 8 weeks beginning Jan 26th and March 30th for $100 plus $10 supplies.  Instructor, Dianne Daltorio.

 

It’s A 3-D World  Students will experiment with their artistic ability using three dimensional sculpting materials like clay, wire, plaster, cardboard, and paper mache.  Upgrade from 2-D paper projects to a total "hands on" scultpture experience.  Ages 10 & up Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm for 8 weeks beginning Jan 26th and March 23rd for $100 plus $10 supplies.  Instructor, Dianne Daltorio.

Morning Art  Especially for home-schooled children ages 5 to 12 who want to experience a variety of media or prepare a portfolio.  Stimulating, creative projects with individualized attention to accommodate learning styles and experience levels.  Combine with home school clay and get a 20% discount.  Taught by Michaela Kuhn on Wed’s from 9:30 to 10:30am for 8 weeks beginning March 17th for $150 plus $25 supplies. Potter’s Wheel Class 

Ages 10 & up that have had some clay experience will create functional art including mosaic tile.  Learn to make thrown shapes on the wheel and work with slabs of clay using hand-building techniques. 8 weeks with Michaela Kuhn for $145 plus $25 supplies.
